Silva vs GSP Coming Soon

After another blow epic, Anderson Silva is left alone atop the middleweight division, especially with Chael Sonnen out of the mix yet. The champion of the sudden stop and the overwhelming majority Vitor Belfort was an end very well, but so sudden that raises the question of who the next challenger is feasible? Certainly, someone with a high level of control is in order, as Silva continues to be simply deadly on his feet.

At the press conference of the UFC Dana White 126 postfight addressed the long duration of a super-fight between Silva and welterweight king Georges St. Pierre. The UFC president said the attack may occur in Saint-Pierre defeats challenger Jake Shields to UFC 129 on April 30.

If Peter does not win, especially in the way the Secretariat, it is stated in the afternoon, a game with Silva seems obvious. They both cleaned their respective divisions for most, especially St. Peter, whose stability challengers consists of guys, he had mastered. San Pedro-Silva is just barely top welterweight Shields, Jon Fitch, Thiago Alves, or BJ Penn (he must defeat Fitch at the end of this month), but the decisions public perception matching shapes.

The thing is: St. Peter will not increase for the midrange, especially when it must come from a biological standpoint. He walks with a solid 190-195 pounds and cutter 170 as a clock, maintaining their natural size and strength advantage. Combined with its superior athleticism, makes him almost perfect welterweight.

Silva true middleweight ride north of £ 210. To add the appropriate weight, St. Pierre would really push the limits of their body, and it is the opinion of this writer that the transition would be doubtful if it is done within the time required for Silva-GSP - most likely the end 2011 - in opposition to fill, of course, long. This could take 3-4 years and still have problems, like GSP is simply not natural 185 pounds.

As shown boxer Michael Spinks in 1985 when he moved from 170 to 220 pounds to fight Larry Holmes and then be crushed in 91 seconds by Mike Tyson, no matter how many repetitions is a guy in the room sport when he was struck by a great man who was naturally bigger to begin with.

Greatness comes to those who dare to be great, and certainly the fight and GSP Silva explosion to give some problems. But part of me recoils at the idea of him risking terrible blows just to satisfy the fans who have been drilled with a dominant title run. Saint-Pierre is on the shortlist of the most marketable fighters in the game, and he owes nothing to the middleweight division.

GSP for the loan, he will probably accept the challenge. However, it adds weight by simply increasing until he lost to Silva and said he will be much more difficult to return to 170. San Pedro-Silva fight is a huge and highly marketable, but that St. Peter should be very well paid, because, in "The Spider" would go beyond the call of duty.

Quote from Vitor Belfort: Top Fighters Should Be Willing to Fight Anyone

Vitor Belfort agrees with Ultimate fighting championship President Dana White’s perception that the best fighters should be willing to fight their buddies, teammates and countrymen.

Belfort may challenge other Brazilian and former training partner Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight title Saturday at UFC 126. Even though Silva has been critical of Belfort’s loyalty in the past, Belfort believes the fight is going to be worth it.

“This is a sport,” Vitor Belfort said recently on Bruce Buffer’s “It’s Time” show on the Sherdog Radio Network. “After this fight, I really think Anderson is going to look back and say, ‘Man, this fight [made history] in the sport.’ We’re proving this is a sport. … I believe after this fight, many fighters many years from now, they’re going to see how it was important that this fight happened for the sport.”

Belfort expects the matchup to influence future generations of mixed martial artists. The message: take on all comers regardless of affiliation.

“Pretty much people are going to start changing their perspective because this is what people want to see,” he said. “People want to see the best fighters fighting the best fighters. It’s hard. I know a lot of people take it personal, but what’s personal? People don’t recognize that. What’s loyalty? Loyalty is you taking care of your family. You being the guy that you preach that you are. Living the words that you say.”

A former UFC light top quality champion, Belfort stressed that their fight along with Silva is not about getting another title as well as winning. He explained it’s about putting on a display.

“In the past it was all about, ‘I cannot lose.’ Now I don’t care,” Belfort said. “I really don’t care what’s going to be the result as long as I … bring the best out of me. I think that’s what Dana’s expecting. ... Win or lose, I’m going to leave the Octagon wanting people to go back home and say, ‘Man, that was the best fight I’ve seen in my life. It was worth it.’”

It is certain that both Vitor Belfort and Anderson Silva have the power in their hands to put on a classic fight. Anderson Silva is 12-0 in the UFC and the top-ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Vitor Belfort hasn’t lost in more than 4 years. In his September '09 return to the UFC, “The Phenom” stopped Former Champ Rich Franklin in just 3:02.

“I respect Anderson Silva’s skills a lot, as a person too,” Belfort said. “It’s a competition. It’s going to be a battle. I hope I can leave with a victory. I’m going to fight for that, but I can promise you guys one thing: that I’m not going to back down. I’m going to do my best.”
