UFC - The Championship of Tomorrow -

UFC is a fairly new sport overall even though the idea behind it is not new at all. In general UFC is just a combination of many different fighting techniques not limited to mixed martial arts and boxing. UFC has become a lot more famous in recent years due to the media exposure it has received; though it has always been fairly popular across the world.

The rules for UFC vary depending on a few factors; though in general the principles remain the same. The winner is decided based on a couple of factors; if a competitor is knocked unconcious or gives in to their opponent they automatically lose the fight. If neither of these happens then the winner is generally picked by the fight judges based upon points assigned to each fighter.

Similar to boxing, UFC is divided into weight classes for fairness. Fighters are weighed prior to each fight to ensure they are within the weight category; other than weight there are very limited category restrictions. Unlike many other fighting sports UFC does not restrict what types of techniques can be used; UFC allows everything from boxing to martial arts in each match.

Recently UFC has also grown to be a popular sport for fans to gamble on. Previously boxing claimed the title for greatest gambling income but UFC managed to steal the win in 2007. Because of the massive success in the United States UFC has successfully branched to many nations across the world. Of course American UFC matches are still very famous in other countries as well.

As was expected UFC has gone through some harsh criticism from the general public and many political figures. Millions of people view UFC as too violent and dangerous. As a result several states have actually banned UFC from holding fights in the state; of course big matches are still broadcast on TV across the world on pay per view.
