This is the second time the UFC has taken place, an event in Sydney, following the sell out UFC 110 in 2010. The highly anticipated UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch fight event, is a major welterweight showdown between the UFC top superstar BJ Penn against Jon Fitch, and a shot at the UFC welterweight championship match on the line.

BJ Penn is back again in the welterweight division after losing games back-to-back to Frankie Edgar at ease and knocking veteran Matt Hughes at 170 pounds last November. The future Hall of Famer seems more comfortable on the heavier weight class and showed he is still a dangerous striker with his KO's strikes.

Penn is a former UFC lightweight champion and UFC welterweight champion and was the coach of The Ultimate Fighter 5 reality show. Jon Fitch could be the most under-appreciated fighter in all MMA. The 32 years -old, hit a bit of a glass ceiling in the division, winning five straight bouts, since losing against athe champion Georges St. Pierre in August 2008. Fitch has not proven he can finish fights like Penn, taking each of the last five victories on the judges score cards.

Jonathan Fitch is an American mixed martial artist. He fought Georges St-Pierre at UFC 87 for the welterweight title. Fitch is also ranked as the #2 welterweight and #5 pound-for-pound UFC fighter in the world.

Fitch has made more impressive records in terms of victories and defeats, Penn has held gold and always been considered one of the greatest sport, win or lose. He bounced back again, after a back-to-back lose with Frankie Edgar his 21 seconds victory over Matt Hughes at UFC 123, and appears to have once again found that hunger. Penn said he has great respect for Fitch and his accomplishments, but he wants to see themselves the product AKA and consensus Top 5 welterweight has to offer.
