Georges Saint Pierre's consecutive title defence will take place on December 11th, at 10PM EST against Josh Koscheck, in St Pierre's home town at the Montreal Bell Centre for UFC 124. This is a much hoped-for rematch between the 2 mma heroes. Their previous fight, UFC 74, was for the number one welterweight rival position, this fight is for the UFC welterweight championship, presently taken by St Pierre.
St Pierre overcame Koscheck in their earlier scrap on August 25, 2007. In that campaign, many individuals anticipated Koscheck would be better on the ground because he is a 4-time Division I NCAA All-American and NCAA wrestling champion, but George Saint Pierre totally possessed him on the ground; St Pierre was on top for nearly all of the fight and broke every one of Koscheck's put-down endeavours.
The belligerents have been opponent coaches on the 12th season of "The Ultimate Fighter" and the title round will serve as the end of the season showdown of the coaches that succeeds the end of the TV show. All through the show, Koscheck poked and poked St Pierre with crude notes and trash talk.
"I'm so good that I get to fight Josh Koscheck in look of my home crowd," St-Pierre said. "He was very profane during the filming of The Ultimate Fighter and I didn't say a phrase. Now on December 11, I get to resolve back with my fists. Last time I fought in Montreal, it was so big the Octagon was rocking. I know the herd will be even bigger for this fight."
I personally cannot wait until this fight happens, I've been waiting ages for this to kick-off and now it's finally happening. Ever since UFC 74: Respect, and not to mention the tension and heat produced between both parties during The Ultimate Fighter television series this last year, I knew that another Georges St Pierre vs Josh Koscheck match would be pretty fly
