Is There Any Possibility Whatsoever That Sonnen Will Overcome Silva In UFC 117 Gambling Competition? - Sports

Is there any likelihood in any way that Chael Sonnen will defeat world champion Anderson Silva in this UFC 117 sportsbook odds competition? Just about every MMA lover that has seen the Main Event in the forthcoming UFC 117 fights betting has asked him/herself this question. No is the answer.

Anderson Silva is, undoubtedly, the most dangerous striker in the sport today, and he is 1 of the biggest fighters to ever grace the Octagon of the UFC. There is no way on earth that Silva loses this UFC 117 wagering competition to Sonnen. Although, Silva's antics in his last match may raise some considerable questions concerning how seriously he takes his MMA wagering bouts these days or if he's got some individual agenda against UFC President Dana White and it is feasible he might use the forum of the UFC 117 wagering Main Event to toy with him, but even then it is difficult to imagine Silva losing.

It was 1 of the oddest fights in MMA betting memory in April when Silva took the ring versus Demian Maia. Silva basically toyed with and insulted Maia for several rounds and then declined to engage for the remainder of the match, even earning a warning from big John McCarthy. But he didn't lose. And he will not lose in this UFC 117 odds competition either.

Silva's largest flaw is his overconfidence and his lack of value for his competitors. Still, Silva has employed his world class striking to toy with his competitors and make somewhat of a mockery from the sport itself. On the other hand, he won his match with Demian Maia by unanimous decision because he dragged it out as long as feasible. Why bother with real competition that might bring you a loss when you are ahead in points? Why finish off your opponent when you are up 40-36 on the cards? Practically the smartest thing he may have done was protect his lead.

It's difficult to know how this match will unfold. He'll still win, even if maybe this UFC 117 betting competition unfolds with the same type of nonsense as Silva's previous match. His pride as a competitor will not permit him to take a loss, and it might be bizarre, ugly and annoying but when the final bell dings Silva will still be the UFC middleweight champion.

Silva remains the top pound for pound competitor in UFC betting, and likely on the planet, even if he may have lost some of his quickness in recent years and maybe some of his ability. There may be some competitor out there that can challenge him, maybe even defeat him in the Octagon, but it is certainly not Sonnen.

After a string of exceptional UFC Main Events, the UFC 117 betting competition is, indeed, a little bit of a letdown. Sonnen's got a lifetime MMA wagering career of 24-10. His day job is a realtor. He was choked out by Meia, the same fighter that Silva just concluded humiliating in April, just slightly over a year ago.
