It's time again for another great exciting battle for the UFC FIGHT NIGHT IT's Lil Nog Vs. Phil Davis two top contender of theLightheavyweight division and it will be another exciting bout also for Dan Hardy Vs Anthiny Johnson. After he was KO in his own country here he is once again,Dan "THE OUTLAW" HARDY is facing another great opponent Anthony Johnson.
n welterweight action, British striker Dan Hardy (23-8-0-1) hopes to rebound from the first knockout loss of his career as he battles Anthony Johnson (8-3) on Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 24. Hardy was defeated by Carlos Condit in his last appearance at UFC 120 in October, losing a battle of simultaneous left hooks. Hardy narrowly missed his target, but Condit landed flush, knocking out Hardy cold at the 4:27 mark of the first round. He had previously challenged UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 11 in March of last year after defeating Mike Swick, Marcus Davis, Rory Markham, and Akihiro Gono in his first four appearances under the UFC banner.
Tonight at UFC Fight Night 24: "Nogueira vs. Davis" (10 p.m. ET to be exact), former Pride FC standout Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will take on four-time All-American wrestler Phil "Mr. Wonderful" Davis in the main event. All the hype has centered around Davis getting the job done and being an eventual contender for light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, with "Lil Nog's" abilities not getting much attention during the pre-fight promotion for the Spike TV event.Nogueira has seen his highs and lows in the sport of mixed martial arts as a veteran of the game for a decade now. And even though Nogueira -- who has more than 20 professional MMA fights -- tasted defeat in his last bout against Ryan Bader, he has toppled several of the best light heavyweights on the planet throughout his career.
As for the former All-American, Davis has been perfect in his young MMA career thus far. The young, 27-year-old fighter has finished five of his eight opponents. And in his last fight, he captured "Submission of the Night" honors over Tim Boetsch at UFC 123.
A four-time All-American and Division I champion wrestler at Penn State, Davis has taken MMA by storm over the last two years, and is clearly an up-and-comer in the light heavyweight ranks. 8-0-0 overall, Davis has won four straight bouts since joining the UFC including a second-round submission win over Tim Boetsch at UFC 123 last November that still has bettors, analysts, and fans talking.Davis is priced as a -330 favorite to make it five in a row against Nogueira (19-4-0), who is on the board as a sizable +270 underdog to cash the fight.Thats hefty chalk for a fighter thats relatively new to the sport, but the reality is this is Davis fight for the taking if his previous results are any indication. Davis is a couple of good wins away from title contention, and with three submissions in his last five fights, the former Nittany Lion is scary for any opponent, including a veteran fighter like Nogueira.
